TMJ (Temporomandibular Joint)

Most complicated joint in the body, which acts like a sliding hinge, connecting your jawbone to your skull. TMJ pain is combination of muscle tension, anatomical problems, and injury.
The pain maybe due to arthritis, jaw injury, genetics, grinding or clenching your teeth. Excessive gum chewing or forceful biting like cracking nuts in your teeth, may also strain the TMJ and cause pain.

Signs and symptoms of TMJ disorder include:

  • Pain or tenderness of the jaw.
  • Headaches.
  • Difficulty chewing or pain while chewing.
  • Earache.
  • Locking of the joint, making it difficult to open or close the mouth.
  • Clicking sound while chewing or opening the mouth.
  • Neck and shoulder pain.
  • Tinnitus.
